Blog - Kids and God

Diverse children holding a sign that says 'God loves his children'.

Do Kids Need God in their Lives?

As children grow and develop a sense of self, they may wonder, “I’m just a kid, how do I fit into this big world?”

The presence of God in a child’s life can provide purpose, direction, and comfort. When we teach kids about God and His love for them, it gives kids a sense of security and builds their self-esteem. God’s love for kids also gives them a model to show kindness and compassion to others. When kids learn about God through the bible, it helps kids develop values and encourages them to make ethical decisions.  Plus, knowing that God cares for them, gives kids comfort in an unpredictable world*.

The author, P.R. Wells is creating a children’s picture book series called “The Journey Through the Fruits of the Spirit.”  Fruits of the spirit are biblical qualities outlined in the bible in Galatians 5:22-23. The first two books are called, “Love” and “Joy” with “Peace” following soon. The stories are told by three adorable animal friends, Evie the deer, Gunner the rabbit, and Finley the hedgehog. These animal friends discover each attribute, and kids learn along with them.
